May 2006

We had a small but good meeting at Kudu on May 13– and then trooped over to see the progress on the Riverview. It’s almost completely painted on the outside and the new portico, lobby, and fitness center are growing daily.
Our bookbox is now in Ohio with mrsjones and the reports back from various BookCrossers it has visited have been great. The link to the journal is here.
Keep checking the calendar for local book related events– First Thursdays in Summerville offer great opportunities to talk books and meet authors. Here in Charleston, our marvelous Friends of the Library group keeps us happy with author talks, book sales and lots of other events. The end of the month will bring Spoleto, and Piccolo Spoleto, which may just mean an extra meeting if possible.
The Toronto 2006 BookCrossing Convention was a great success, and now it’s our turn to step up to the plate and plan a grand convention for 2007. If you’re interested in helping out in the planning, contact bookczuk or martip by private message at BookCrossing or email us here at:
